Dr. Mikolajczyk aims at developing computational tools to design new efficient materials (hybrid nanomaterials, ionic liquids) that are safe for human health and for the environment.

Currently, Dr. Mikolajczyk serves as an Associate Professor at University of Gdańsk in Poland and is a Senior Specialist R&D in QSAR Lab Ltd. Before that, she was a postdoctoral research associate at Department of Environmental Technology at University of Gdańsk, and completed a series of internships abroad (e.g. at North Dakota State University, Yachay Tech University, Interdisciplinary Canter for Nanotoxicity).

Dr. Mikolajczyk is an author of more than 20 in peer-reviewed research papers, 1 book chapter, and 2 technical papers. As a leader of project titled Development and Implementation of a Sustainable Modelling Platform for NanoInformatics at University of Gdansk, she has successfully secured grant funding from European Union (EU HORIZON 2020).

She is a very talented scholar, whose research excellence was recognized by multiple awards. For example, in 2019, Dr. Mikolajczyk received Individual fellowship for the outstanding young scientists granted by Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education and START fellowship by Foundation for Polish Science. Earlier, her PhD thesis was named best by Polish Chemical Society in 2017. Also, during her final year of PhD, she received funding from National Polish Center (PRELUDIUM 10) to support her project "Modeling the relationship between structural features of modified TiO 2 nanoparticles and their cytotoxicity in vitro via a combination of experimental and computational approach".
